Distressed frame

Distressing a frame:

Making a distressed, chic frame is easy with these instructions from Lee La La (find the link to Lee La La here). After posting Tutorials II the other week, I decided to try this project. The distressing method can be used on a variety of design projects… monogrammed letters for the nursery, wood numbers for a gallery wall display. Lots of possibilities.

Materials:

unfinished wood frame

sandpaper

paint (I tried vanilla)

paintbrush

black ink pad

cloth

Method:

Lightly sand the entire frame.

Apply 2 coats of paint.

Sand the edges and corners.

Run the cloth over the ink pad and apply to the areas you sanded. Resand one more time. This will give your frame an instant distressed look…

Lastly, I applied some varnish to protect the wood.

Simple project with lovely results!
